The unique Czech solution Food Save has been granted utility model protection. It uses artificial intelligence to combat food waste.

Praha, 10. října 2023 – Úřad průmyslového vlastnictví udělil novému českému řešení Food Save tzv. užitný vzor. Ten potvrzuje, že se jedná o nový, inovativní a průmyslově využitelný produkt. Food Save na základě kamerového snímání sbírá data o množství a pohybu zboží po prodejně, která za pomoci umělé inteligence v reálném čase vyhodnocuje. Systém tak sám upozorní na potřebu zboží doplnit, jednorázově zlevnit nadměrně naskladněné zboží, nebo doporučí přesun nadměrných zásob před jejich expirací na jinou prodejnu. Za unikátním řešením stojí česká společnost Analytics Data Factory, která je expertem na správu a využití firemních dat, a jeho testování proběhlo ve spolupráci s ČVUT v Praze. "Food Save is a complex solution, I see its benefit not only in the use of artificial intelligence, but mainly in its holistic approach - there is no lack of business process, work with data and other necessary functionalities. Everything has been successfully tested so that the solution is actually usable in practice and does not remain only at the theoretical level. Při zápisu užitného vzoru bral Úřad průmyslového vlastnictví v potaz fakt, že se jedná o nové, unikátní řešení, které je zároveň široce využitelné v praxi.  „Detecting the fullness of the shelves, the freshness of the fruit or the queues at the checkout is still largely done today by employees who have to make regular rounds of the store, because no solution to date has been able to monitor the different aspects of so many types of items,“ vysvětluje jedinečnost řešení Kamil Mahdal, zakladatel a CEO společnosti Analytics Data Factory. Food Save využívá ke zpracování získaných informací umělou inteligenci, která je dokáže v reálném čase vyhodnocovat. Jak ale upozorňuje docent Merunka z ČVUT, rolí umělé inteligence není nahradit zaměstnance, ale poskytnout jim efektivní nástroj pro vyšší kvalitu a komfort práce. „AI should not be seen as the enemy, but as a means to better achieve given goals. Food Save is proof that when AI is used appropriately within complex processes, it can benefit all parties.
